Go to Batam without stop by to Barelang Bridge (Jembatan Barelang) is not complete. Barelang Bridge is one of famous tourism object in Batam Island. It is a pride for Batam citizen . It is a chain of 6 bridges of various types that connect the island of Batam – Rempang – Galang.
Last year I spend my time to visit Batam. I did not forget to see Barelang Bridge. Along the way up to Barelang Bridge was fulfilled with food and beverages sellers.
Construction of the bridge started in 1992 and took names from fifteenth to eighteenth century Malay ruler of the Riau Kingdom. The total stretch of all bridges to 2 kilometers.

The Tengku Fisabilillah bridge connects Batam and Tonton island. It stretch for 642 metres and is the most popular bridge of all, being a cable stayed bridge with two pylons. The remaining 5 standard bridges are mostly beam bridges.
This very recognized bridge often visited by tourists during holiday and also normal day . Many people hang out and spend their time at holiday around there. Some of them do fishing at around the bridges. The others just see the panorama around there and take some photos. In pavement of bridge there are some one who sold of prawn fries sate, big crab fries , rujak, roast maize and others.
